The GGI Handbook was introduced and showcased by OW2 at AlpOSS, February 20 in Echirolles (Grenoble, France).
The GGI handbook and the OSPO Alliance were represented by OW2 during the AlpOSS conference in Echirolles (Grenoble, France), on February 20, 2025. The handbook was showcased on the OW2 booth and introduced in many discussions with positive feedbacks:
Private company: We do have an OSPO started a few years ago, and I am in charge of it, but I struggle to get internal support, to be officially recognized in the company organizational chart. This makes us dependant on the changes in the company’s management team, and we have somehow the feeling to start again from scratch with each new IT Director.
Software editor: Altough our company is “open source” based, we had the feeling at some point that the open source culture and knowledge was not so present among our teams, even in the technical teams. So we settled this as a necessary objective and pre-requisite to the company’s growth and decided to co-create with the teams a sort of internal charter.
AlpOSS “Alpes Open Source Software” is a recent and local event, dedicated to software vendors, service providers, local authorities and open source users in the broad sense. The conference aims to create links between suppliers of open source technologies and users, to discuss collaboration models and business models, and to structure and energize the local ecosystem. Organized for the second edition, AlpOSS gathered this year some +330 people and 16 sponsors.
